Viltra is proud to be the principal designer of the wastewater and industrial effluent treatment system for this project which will see Monaghan-based McCaughey Foods, one of Ireland’s leading producers of ready-to-eat meat products, investing €150 million to build a world-class new production facility in Castleblayney.
The new factory will allow McCaughey Foods to significantly increase production to meet growing customer demands in Ireland, the UK and EU. This type of project fits directly into Viltra’s skill set and values, it also aligns with decades of experience in providing bespoke solutions, customised to the client and contextual needs, within the commercial and industrial sector across Ireland and the UK.
The new facility will be a centre of excellence for cooked food production in Ireland, with McCaughey Foods working with engineers and designers from around the world to ensure the factory will employ the latest technology in food quality, robotics, automation, research and development, making it an industry-leader for innovation and science. Founded in 1996, McCaughey Foods is a family-owned operation that currently employs 130 people across two facilities in Castleblayney. The new factory will create up to 300 highly skilled new jobs, mainly in science and engineering.
