Challenges
Most National Trust sites are environmentally sensitive, some are difficult to access and every National Trust site has a large fluctuation in the number of visitors it receives throughout the year. Fluctuating visitor numbers and seasonal variances throughout the year requires Viltra to design bespoke solutions that are unique to each National Trust site, ensuring key tourism sites are compliant all year round, irrespective of the volume of visitors or weather conditions.
Our Solution
The Viltra team carry out ongoing servicing and maintenance, de–sludge, sample and handle all system upgrades for each of the 58 wastewater treatment systems across the National Trust portfolio throughout Northern Ireland, including key sites such as Carrick-a-Rede Rope Bridge, Giants Causeway, Castle Ward, Mount Stewart, Murlough Nature Reserve and many more.
Our team liaises with the Department of Agriculture, Environment and Rural Affairs (DAERA) on the National Trust’s behalf and is responsible for every aspect of their compliance, Viltra is proud to exceed compliance rates across all National Trust sites in Northern Ireland with DAERA sampling on a quarterly basis.
